I particularly enjoyed this Debut podcast. It seems imperative that
leaders should ‘interrogate reality openly and creatively’. I feel
relieved to hear your indirect mentioning of the importance of innovation
here. The points raised are essential to the success of every system:
whether political, corporate, social.
No one would argue that defining the matrix competently so that the
mission and vision are clear is essential; that considering credible
diverse views is crucial, often overlooked, or simply too challenging
to be taken seriously. My humble experience in the ruthless, yet
energising world of student politics, opened my eyes about the
challenges surrounding a leader’s ability to consult and consider its
members’ views. Being people’s person is not easy but is the very
point of politics. Finally, combined with creating clarity and
visibility through communicating where are we now, and where are we
going to be, is a fundamental principle of good governance.
Omar, thank you once again for bringing light to so many fundamental
questions. Moreover thank you for bringing this up through such an
interesting and so very current political perspective.
